60 seconds with John

“…the only thing I would miss from a mobile phone is the alarm clock feature!”

In our blog series ’60 seconds with…’ we get to know a little bit more about each of the team members each week. After all, in PR, it’s all about the personal touch.

This week we have a quick chat with John Cowley, our Account Manager.

  • What do you like most about the PR industry?

The PR industry attracts a lot of different kinds of people and its been very interesting and entertaining to meet and work with some of them.

  • Digital camera or smartphone, if you could have only one?

Digital camera! Aside from the photographic advantages of a DSLR, the only thing I would miss from a mobile phone is the alarm clock feature!

  • What has been the most fascinating thing about the logistics industry to you?

The complexity of supply chains and all the different people and technology involved at every link.

  • What is the last new word you learned and what does it mean?

In which language? I can’t think of a recent one, but my favourite logistics word is ‘stevedoring’. It comes from Spanish for a ship’s hold and has absolutely nothing to do with a guy called Steve.

  • What’s the best thing about working in the logistics industry?

Logistics is everywhere and no one pays any attention to it, there’s so much going on and so many different things to find out about!

  • What do you like most about being an Account Manager?

Building a relationship with clients and getting to know their businesses, and in the process, getting to feel like I’m one of their team.

If you would like to ask John more questions about working in the PR industry feel free to leave a Comment and we will respond as soon as we can.
