ASM software upgrade gives forwarders one-stop-shop freight management solution from booking to final delivery

Agency Sector Management (ASM) has released a major upgrade of its Sequoia software for forwarders, which includes back office systems delivering freight management solutions, as well as Customs clearance functions

London, UK, Monday, 17th July 2017 –  Agency Sector Management (ASM), the leading software provider to the UK forwarding industry, has launched a major upgrade of its Sequoia software, which now gives users a complete freight management system, from job and shipment management and documentation through to Customs declarations, job costing, and invoicing.

The new release gives users a single application where data is shared across all functions such as job costing and producing documentation, as well as for the Customs declaration process, avoiding the need for data to be rekeyed and therefore saving time and costs, as well as reducing errors.

“Productivity and compliance are really important to our customers” said Simon Adams, Program Manager, ASM.

“This upgrade will further support them in staying compliant with the evolving legislative landscape and allow them to complete the entire freight management process in one application.”

The new release of Sequoia, which is available now, integrates into existing ASM software without added cost to form part of the core functionality, eliminating the need for separate invoicing, sales management, or job costing software.

“As Brexit negotiations develop, we are bound to see more pressure on Customs systems and regulations, which are in any case old and in the process of being replaced,” said Peter MacSwiney, Chairman, Agency Sector Management.

“ASM customers need a flexible and adaptable solution to rise to these challenges and the new release will support them to do just that as well as bringing time and cost savings by delivering a one stop shop for the entire freight management process.”

The new software’s flexibility and ability to adapt will support users in staying compliant as Customs requirements develop and the Brexit process evolves.

Sequoia is the evolution of over 20 years of software development from ASM which began with the introduction of CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight).

Features of the new release include:

  • Job Costing
    • Recording costs and sales;
    • Generating sales invoices and credit notes;
    • Managing the process of reconciling and passing invoices from suppliers;
    • Producing profit and loss reports;
    • Transferring cost and sales data to your accounting system.
  • CT (Transit) Guarantee Management
  • Several productivity and compliance modifications to declarations
  • Extensions to the eDocument Management capabilities

Ends

Our Mission

To provide a one-stop software and representative solution across the international freight supply chain.

“We will develop and support cost-effective, business critical software to match your complex requirements, providing communication and integration between freight forwarders, business partners, community and government systems.

We will protect and promote your interests by actively representing you on key industry and government committees and institutions, influencing strategy to minimise the impact of legislative changes.”

Our Vision

The objective of SESAR is to modernise European ATM by defining, developing and delivering new or improved technologies and procedures (SESAR Solutions).

SESAR’s vision builds on the notion of trajectory-based operations’ and relies on the provision of air navigation services (ANS) in support of the execution of the business or mission trajectory — meaning that aircraft can fly their preferred trajectories without being constrained by airspace configurations.

SESAR Deployment Manager

The SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) function is defined by the Article 9 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) N°409/2013. Under the oversight of the European Commission, the SDM function consists of the synchronisation and the coordination of the deployment of the Common Projects. A Common Project is a Commission Implementing Regulation which mandates the implementation of the most essential operational changes in the European ATM Master Plan by the Member States of the European Union and their operational stakeholders. The first Common Project is known as the Pilot Common Project (PCP) and is defined by the Regulation (EU) N°716/2014. The SDM synchronises and coordinates implementation against the SESAR Deployment Programme which is a project view of the Common Projects organizing their implementation into optimum sequences of activities by all the stakeholders required to implement. To develop and maintain the SESAR Deployment Programme in close consultation with all the stakeholders is another important task under the SDM function.
