Cargo iQ member IBS Software upgrades to Cargo Data Management Platform status for iCargo solution

IBS Software received the official Cargo Data Management Platform status after successfully passing the Cargo iQ audit process

Geneva, Switzerland, Wednesday 17th July 2019 – Cargo iQ member, IBS Software, has further boosted its technology credentials after achieving the Cargo Data Management Platform (CDMP) certification for its iCargo platform.

IBS Software specialises in IT solutions for the travel, transport, and logistics industries, and its customers will now be able to carry out direct reporting to Cargo iQ through the end-to-end air cargo management platform, iCargo.

“CDMP certification provides the IBS iCargo platform with an industry accredited quality certification, that fully supports the quality standards implemented by Cargo iQ,” said Ashok Rajan, Senior Vice President and Head of Cargo & Logistics Line of Business, IBS.

“Cargo iQ is the only global industry standard for benchmarking service quality and carriers will be able to improve their Service Level Agreement adherence and service quality by monitoring shipments in real time.

“IBS partnered with Korean Air as the launch customer for Cargo iQ, which is already benefiting from this capability.

“The CDMP certification reaffirms our commitment to the digital future of air freight and extends it to iCargo customers who have deployed the iCargo platform to better manage technology-driven business practices within global air freight.”

The process for IBS Software to gain CDMP certification involved a preparatory phase, followed by a pre-assessment phase, which included the verification of test reports, and then a final assessment and formal audit conducted by SGS on behalf of Cargo iQ.

“Gaining CDMP status is an important milestone for IBS Software, and we welcome the technology expertise that IBS continues to bring to Cargo iQ,” said Ariaen Zimmerman, Executive Director, Cargo iQ.

“At Cargo iQ, our focus is on continually improving processes in air cargo by implementing quality standards for the benefit of the global air freight industry, and CDMP certification will allow IBS to deliver even more value through the iCargo platform.”

Cargo iQ has more than 80 international members of airlines, forwarders, Ground Handling Agents, and IT companies, and recently welcomed Royal Air Maroc as the latest new member.

Our Vision

The objective of SESAR is to modernise European ATM by defining, developing and delivering new or improved technologies and procedures (SESAR Solutions).

SESAR’s vision builds on the notion of trajectory-based operations’ and relies on the provision of air navigation services (ANS) in support of the execution of the business or mission trajectory — meaning that aircraft can fly their preferred trajectories without being constrained by airspace configurations.

SESAR Deployment Manager

The SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) function is defined by the Article 9 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) N°409/2013. Under the oversight of the European Commission, the SDM function consists of the synchronisation and the coordination of the deployment of the Common Projects. A Common Project is a Commission Implementing Regulation which mandates the implementation of the most essential operational changes in the European ATM Master Plan by the Member States of the European Union and their operational stakeholders. The first Common Project is known as the Pilot Common Project (PCP) and is defined by the Regulation (EU) N°716/2014. The SDM synchronises and coordinates implementation against the SESAR Deployment Programme which is a project view of the Common Projects organizing their implementation into optimum sequences of activities by all the stakeholders required to implement. To develop and maintain the SESAR Deployment Programme in close consultation with all the stakeholders is another important task under the SDM function.
