CHAPMAN FREEBORN WINS AIR CARGO CHARTER PROJECT OF THE YEAR AT THE AIR CARGO NEWS AWARDS 2023

The charter broker is recognised for its outstanding service in delivering humanitarian aid to Turkey following the earthquakes in the region earlier this year

London, UK, Friday 13th October 2023: Chapman Freeborn received the Air Cargo Charter Project of the Year Award at the 2023 Air Cargo News Awards held in London, UK, on Thursday 12th October.

Chapman Freeborn overcame limited capacities and secured special relief flight permits to deliver humanitarian aid to Turkey in response to the earthquakes in the region during February 2023.

“Speed is essential for humanitarian relief flights, and thanks to our specialist Emergency Response Team we secured a charter for one of our customers on the same day it was requested,” said Neil Dursley, Chief Commercial Officer, Chapman Freeborn.

“To have been recognised with the Air Charter Project of the Year Award speaks to the commitment and ingenuity of our teams, who go above-and-beyond to ensure aid is delivered to those who need it as quickly and efficiently as possible, providing a service that is unmatched in our sector.”

The judges highlighted Chapman Freeborn for navigating limited capacities by leveraging its longstanding relationships with operators in the region, and seamlessly coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of aid.

Chapman Freeborn chartered more than 45 freighter flights to deliver aid to Turkey and Syria from countries across the globe including the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Spain, Belgium, India, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Singapore, and the Philippines.

The charter broker has been an integral part of the humanitarian response to every major global crisis over the past 50 years, providing solutions for airlifts, airdropping, search and rescue flights, evacuations, and repatriations.

The news follows Chapman Freeborn’s launch of its Aviation Emergency Services (AES); an enhancement to its existing service that facilitates swift and efficient emergency response charters and timely aid when it matters most.

Chapman Freeborn has also been shortlisted for Airfreight Solution of the Year at the Heavy Lift Awards 2023, which will take place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Wednesday 25th October.
