FLOWSAFE DCD 2000 DISINFECTION UNIT A SUSTAINABLE AND COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTION AS CORONAVIRUS HEALTH FEARS FOR VESSEL CREW GROW

Flow Water Technologies’ equipment provides endless amounts of sustainable disinfectant to clean and sanitise both vessels and port facilities

Limassol, Cyprus, 30th January 2020 – Flow Water Technologies has reported a marked increase in interest in its FlowSafe DCD 2000 Disinfectant Unit following recent comments by the International Transport Worker’s Federation (ITF) and World Health Organisation (WHO) regarding the need for vigilance and maintenance of good hygiene practices.

“While we’ve begun to receive enquiries from port and terminal handlers, it is also interesting to see how much shipowners are caring about their crews and the interest on-board vessels is high,” said Mark Hadfield, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Flow Water Technologies Ltd.

Shipowners, given previous experience with outbreaks such as SARS and Ebola, are already aware that a single crew member that is exposed to such a virus can lead to quarantine for an entire crew and vessel.

“It is a safe unit that is in line with Flow Water’s policy of removing plastics on-board vessels and puts the well being of the crew first while also creating significant savings for shipowners,” said Hadfield.

Launched last year, Flow Water DCD 2000 produces a safe-to-use sodium hydrochlorus solution that can be installed within a matter of hours on-board vessels ranging from private yachts, tankers, container ships to cruise liners.

“FlowSafe DCD 2000 ensures endless amounts of cleaning and disinfection control to clean and sanitise all the drinking water units along with endless amounts of liquid to clean the whole crew quarters of the vessel including the galley,” said Hadfield.

The FlowSafe DCD 2000 also produces drinking water by way of a commercial level pre-filtration in front of specially selected ultra-filtration.

FlowSafe DCD 2000 has already been awarded all the correct approval certificates.
