FLYUS OPENS PUERTO RICO OFFICE AND WINS NEW AIR CANADA CONTRACT
FlyUs’ newest office will support Air Canada cargo operations between San Juan and Toronto, with a focus on pharmaceutical exports
San Juan, Puerto Rico, Monday 12th October 2026: FlyUs Aviation Group (FlyUs), global General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA), has opened a new office in Puerto Rico, where it has been appointed to represent Air Canada.
FlyUs will support Air Canada cargo capacity on three weekly freighter flights between Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and its Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) hub, connecting into Air Canada’s vast global network.
“Puerto Rico is the number one bioscience manufacturing hub in the US by export volume, so there is a significant requirement for reliable temperature-controlled air cargo capacity from the island,” said Carlo de Haas, President and Chief Executive Officer, FlyUs.
“FlyUs has extensive experience handling temperature-controlled cargo, particularly pharmaceuticals, perishables, and flowers, so our team is well-positioned to support Air Canada and its customers with these sensitive shipments.”
The Puerto Rico appointment builds on a longstanding relationship between FlyUs and Air Canada, with FlyUs representing the airline in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ecuador, and several countries across Central America.
“FlyUs has proven to be a trusted partner through the strong results they have achieved as Air Canada’s GSA in multiple markets,” said Matthieu Casey, Managing Director, Commercial – Cargo, Air Canada.
“As our confidence in the partnership has grown, extending that relationship to Puerto Rico became a logical next step.
“Being able to provide reliable uplift from one of the US’s most significant export markets is an important part of our cargo offering, and we are glad to have FlyUs on board to support us in Puerto Rico.”
FlyUs now represents 24 airlines across 28 locations, with further office openings planned for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
“The opening of our Puerto Rico office is another step in growing the FlyUs global footprint and strengthening our ability to support airline partners wherever they need us,” added de Haas.
“Our strategy is to continue expanding into markets where our specialist cargo knowledge can add value, and Puerto Rico gives us another base from which to do that.”
FlyUs will be participating in the International Air Cargo Association’s Air Cargo Forum, taking place in Miami, Florida from 26-29th October 2026.
