JEREMY NIXON CONFIRMED FOR KEYNOTE SPEECH AT MULTIMODAL AS ONLINE VOTING FOR THE FTA MULTIMODAL AWARDS GAINS PACE

Hundreds of industry leaders have already voted for their favourite supplier for the FTA Multimodal Awards 2019, with online voting closing in just five weeks’ time.

London, UK, Thursday 25th April 2019 – Jeremy Nixon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ocean Network Express (ONE), will kick off a panel at Multimodal 2019 with a keynote speech on Tuesday 18th June 2019, sharing his outlook for the liner shipping industry.

Nixon oversaw the merger of three Japanese shipping firms to become ONE, creating an entirely new brand and business that is now one of the biggest shipping lines in the world.

Multimodal 2019 takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 18-20 June and Nixon will be speaking alongside industry insiders and innovators, Ariaen Zimmerman, Executive Director of Cargo iQ, and John Manners-Bell, CEO of Transport Intelligence, on a panel concerning disruption.

“Liner shipping faces many global challenges, but is rapidly evolving,” said Nixon.

“ONE has come a long way since commencing operations a little over a year ago, and I am looking forward to taking the podium and sharing my experience and participating in the discussions at Multimodal 2019.”

Brexit lessons and opportunities, recruitment of new talent, and blockchain are all topics that are taking centre stage at Multimodal 2019’s three-day seminar and workshop programme.

“The panel on disruptors and disruption will provide the transport and logistics community with the opportunity to hear first-hand from industry leaders who spearhead change and innovation in our industry,” said Robert Jervis, Logistics Portfolio Director, Clarion Events.

“It is the expertise and knowledge of all our speakers that make Multimodal a valuable experience for visitors, and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone taking part in leading the seminars, workshops and speeches.

“Multimodal is a showground where the entire supply chain is represented, and the education programme gives visitors the chance to come together and gain industry insights that help them to grow their professional networks and businesses.”

Voting has now opened for the FTA Multimodal Awards which recognise companies and individuals that have made exceptional contributions to logistics and covers categories such as Young Logistics Professional of the Year and Operator of the Year across the sectors.

A highlight of the event, the FTA Multimodal awards ceremony also features a gala dinner, which Steve Davis, snooker legend, will be hosting this year.
