MAASTRICHT AACHEN AIRPORT APPOINTS PASCALE DE MIETER IN KEY ROLE TO BOOST CARGO HANDLING OPERATIONS
New role at MST will strengthen the airport’s focus on specialised, high-value and time-critical cargo markets
Maastricht, the Netherlands, Monday, 12th May 2025: Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) has appointed Pascale De Mieter as Cargo Sales Executive, reinforcing the airport’s commitment to expanding its cargo handling operations.
In her new role, De Mieter will focus on driving growth in high-demand verticals such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, live animals, and vulnerable cargo.
She will support the Head of Commercial Development, whose remit includes both cargo and passenger services.
“MST is a bold, forward-thinking airport with untapped potential, and for me, joining this team is a natural evolution,” said De Mieter.
“I’ve sat on nearly every side of the air cargo table: airlines, forwarding, charter brokerage, and most recently in a high-tech environment driving the digitalisation of airfreight agreements. Now, it’s time to bring all that experience to the airport side.
“What sets MST apart is its agility, something you rarely find at airports. Pair that with its strategic location, and you have a powerful platform to meet complex cargo demands. I’m excited to build momentum here and push boundaries.”
De Mieter brings over 23 years of air cargo expertise, including senior roles at Air Belgium, where she launched and led cargo handling operations and at CAL Cargo Airlines in Liège, a specialist in non-standard cargo.
“With over two decades of experience spanning forwarding, ground handling, and airline operations, Pascale brings a 360-degree view of the cargo supply chain to Maastricht Aachen Airport,” said Dean Boljuncic, Head of Commercial Development at MST.
“Her expertise in pharma and cold chain, and her proven ability to scale niche cargo operations, make her a valuable asset as we grow our position in high-value and time-sensitive markets.
“Pascale’s strong industry network, commercial drive, and hands-on mindset align perfectly with MST’s vision to deliver agile, direct cargo solutions to our customers.”
MST already enjoys a strong reputation for handling flowers and dangerous goods and recently renewed its IATA CEIV certification for handling pharmaceutical products.
De Mieter’s appointment is part of the airport’s strategy to build on this foundation and enhance its position as a specialist regional cargo hub.
The MST team will be attending Transport Logistic / Air Cargo Europe 2025 in Munich from 2 to 5 June on stand A1.209/310.
