OMAN AVIATION SERVICES JOINS TIACA BOARD

Dr Khalfan Al Shueili, based in the Middle East, brings ground handling expertise to the TIACA Board

Miami, FL, USA Monday 15th April 2019: Dr Khalfan Al Shueili, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oman Aviation Services (OAS), has been elected to the Board of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA).

Dr Al Shueili has headed up OAS, based at Muscat Airport, Oman, for the last 15 months.

Air cargo in the Sultanate of Oman witnessed a significant growth during the period from 2013 to 2018, during which volumes almost doubled.

He previously spent more than seven years leading readiness operations for the Oman Airports Management Company during a period of expansion.

“TIACA brings together all sectors of the cargo supply chain and the addition of OAS means we now have more airport and handling expertise as part of our Board from this important growing region,” said Sebastiaan Scholte, Chairman of TIACA and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jan de Rijk Logistics.

“We look forward to working together as we look to develop the seminar programme for our Executive Summit.”

OAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TIACA last year, pledging to work together with the Association to promote air cargo growth in the Middle East.

“This step will allow us to explore new horizons of regional and global partnership, as TIACA is considered to be a very comprehensive umbrella of international cargo companies,” said Al Shueili.

“This is in line with the outlook and vision for the future development of the air cargo sector in the Sultanate of Oman, which is flourishing in terms of new facilities and volume growth.”

TIACA will host its Executive Summit and AGM in Budapest, Hungary from November 19th-21st.

Hosts Budapest Airport will stage an Opening Ceremony for its new dedicated freight centre, called BUD Cargo City, during the event, inviting delegates, customers, and suppliers to tour the facility, followed by a Gala Dinner at its historic Terminal One building.

TIACA’s Hall of Fame winner will be announced during the dinner.
