Birmingham UK, Wednesday 15th June 2022: Andrew Malcolm, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), The Malcolm Group, was named the Multimodal 2022 Personality of the Year at a record-breaking awards event last night.

Eight hundred and sixty guests came together at the VOX in Birmingham on the evening of the first day of Multimodal 2022 to celebrate achievement and innovation by companies from across the supply chain over the last eight months.

“It was an honour to be named the Multimodal Personality of the Year 2022,” said Malcolm.

“The team at The Malcolm Group works very hard to support me and everything that we do to make sure that we deliver on the pledges that we have made to our customers and stakeholders.

“I would like to thank them and everybody over the past 40 years who have helped me achieve this recognition tonight amongst my friends and peers.”

Winners also included Kuehne+Nagel, Charles Kendall, Palletline, ABP, Freightliner, AP-Moller-Maersk, Maritime Transport, Peel Ports, Maritime Cargo Processing Company (MCP), Montrose Port Authority/Baker Hughes, and Mole Valley Farmers/Howard Tenens, with The Bristol Ports Company named Multimodal Exhibitor of the Year 2022.

“Multimodal was established to both provide a platform for companies to exhibit professionalism to new and existing customers and to commend excellence, and that is exactly what these awards do,” said Robert Jervis, Director, Multimodal.

“We congratulate everyone who was nominated last night. They should be rightly proud of their achievements.”

Karolina Szachnowicz, from Ligentia, won the Logistics Young Professional of the Year Award that recognises emerging talent in the industry.

She was described by judges as: ‘a role model to her peers, with clear leadership potential’.

Thousands of readers of the Multimodal Newsletter as well as visitors to the show and their customers voted for the Modal, Port, 3PL, Pallet Network, and Technology Awards.

A panel of nine judges from across the industry selected the Young Personality, Sustainability, Port Safety, and Shipper/Partner Awards.

The awards took place on the first of the three-day Multimodal show, which brings together supply chain decision makers with leading companies to find new ways of building resilient supply chains and collaborative learning.

About Multimodal

Multimodal 2023 will celebrate sixteen years of putting shippers, retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, and exporters in front of exhibitors who offer the latest logistics and supply chain solutions.

The three-day show between 13th to 15th June 2023 will offer a unique opportunity to make valuable face-to-face contact with new prospects and existing companies.

Shippers and cargo owners attend to improve their businesses; by finding ways of moving their products more efficiently and by meeting new suppliers.

Multimodal represents every logistics sector under one roof, and is characterised by key vertical sectors, including manufacturing, retail, agribusiness, chemical, automotive, electronics, FMCG, food & drink, fashion, pharmaceuticals, construction, aerospace, energy, real estate, recycling, paper/print and perishables, amongst others, whilst horizontally, the show covers all modes of transportation, including sea, road, rail, air, and inland waterways.

This matrix design makes Multimodal incredibly valuable and accessible for shippers – whilst also affording them the opportunity to successfully meet and network with peers from other sectors, which is another key reason for their attendance.

Multimodal delivers a bespoke series of seminars targeted at helping supply chains run more efficiently, as well as offering two networking events, the Multimodal Awards, and the Multimodal Mixer.
