TIACA and The Cool Chain Association stage back-to-back events in Miami

The Cool Chain Association and TIACA co-locate summits during the week of the 19th of May in Miami

Miami, USA, Friday 27th February, 2015 – TIACA is holding its Executive Summit, and The Cool Chain Association its Perishables Conference, during the week of the 18th of May, in Miami, USA.

Air cargo executives attending both events, at the Conrad Hotel in Miami, will benefit from discounted registration rates.

The Cool Chain Association is hosting its conference, called Improving The Perishable Air Cargo Supply Chain, on the 18th and 19th of May 2015.

TIACA is holding its Executive Summit, which will have a focus on Supply Chain Strategies for Latin America, from the 19th to the 21st of May 2015.

“There is a great deal of synergy between the two events,” said Sebastiaan Scholte, CEO Jan de Rijk Logistics, Chairman of The Cool Chain Association, and also on the Board of TIACA.

“This is an excellent opportunity for air cargo decision makers from all parts of the supply chain to network, build business relationships, and take part in high-level discussion about issues affecting our industry.”

The Perishables Conference will focus on the importance of quality and efficiency, and look at innovative approaches to halt modal shift, as well as providing insight into the Latin America market.

TIACA’s Executive Summit will look at the challenges and opportunities in Latin America, as well as playing host to a series of panel debates and interactive workshops on global airfreight issues.

“We are looking forward to an exciting week of discussion as well as plenty of opportunities to network and discover new business potential,” said Doug Brittin, Secretary General, TIACA.

“Co-locating these two important events means that executives can make the most of their time.”

There are still limited sponsorship opportunities for the events, and delegates registering for both will benefit from discounts.

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) represents, supports, informs, and connects every element of the global air freight supply chain. TIACA lobbies governments and regulators, provides valuable networking opportunities, organizes and hosts leading industry events, and gives guidance, advice, and specialist career development training for members. We champion every size of business, and help shape the policy which affects all of our members, providing a unifying voice for the industry, working for global standards, and raising the profile of air cargo. TIACA is a not- for-profit trade association representing aircraft manufacturers, airports, all-cargo airlines, combination carriers, consultants, Customs brokers, educational institutions, equipment manufacturers, general sales agents, ground handlers, freight forwarders, integrators, IT systems providers, logistics companies, road carriers, shippers, and screening technology developers.

The CCA is a non-profit organization, founded in 2003, with the aim of synchronizing the cool supply chain in order to improve the quality of perishables and temperature sensitive products (PTSP) and thus prolong their shelf life and reduce wastage. Presently, approximately 30% of harvested fresh products decay due to incorrect handling and mistakes in the cold chain. As a result, the CCA and its members with the certification experts Germanicsher Lloyd created the cold chain logistics quality standard, the Cool Chain Quality Indicator (CCQI). This standard is the first ever attempt to set standards for the entire logistic industry in the handling of PTSP and covers the complete cool chain from production to retail store shelf.
