TIGERS SOUTH AFRICA OPENS DEDICATED E-COMMERCE CENTRE AS DEMAND SOARS

Tigers South Africa has invested in IT infrastructure to develop the new e-commerce centre, with plans to further grow services for the online retail market

Hong Kong, Monday 19th August 2019 – Tigers South Africa has officially opened a dedicated e-commerce centre at its Johannesburg, South Africa, warehouse facility, as the online retail market continues to grow globally.

The centre is equipped with the Tigers-developed ScanPak App that allows staff to conduct scan checks while packing shipments and create waybills for packages to ensure efficient handling of goods.

“The new e-commerce facility will take Tigers South Africa to the next level, as the online retail market continues to be a key focus for us,” said Paul Lawrence, Managing Director, Tigers South Africa.

“With the ongoing e-commerce revolution and digital technology transforming the way consumers shop, we find ourselves in a very good strategic position to further enhance and grow this vertical for Tigers.

“As with most Tigers solutions, ScanPak is replicable, and we will roll out the same solution in Cape Town by the end of August.”

The e-commerce centre is the first of its kind for Tigers in South Africa, and the move coincides with the recent announcement about freight rate quote engine Doozee being rolled-out across Tigers’ global internal network.

“E-commerce is a key market for Tigers, particularly as digital technology and online retail continues to drive innovation in the logistics and supply chain sector,” said Andrew Jillings, Chief Executive Officer, Tigers.

“The new dedicated e-commerce centre in South Africa is an important investment for the future direction of Tigers and is a testament to the hard work of the team in South Africa in developing the new facility.”

Our Vision

The objective of SESAR is to modernise European ATM by defining, developing and delivering new or improved technologies and procedures (SESAR Solutions).

SESAR’s vision builds on the notion of trajectory-based operations’ and relies on the provision of air navigation services (ANS) in support of the execution of the business or mission trajectory — meaning that aircraft can fly their preferred trajectories without being constrained by airspace configurations.

SESAR Deployment Manager

The SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) function is defined by the Article 9 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) N°409/2013. Under the oversight of the European Commission, the SDM function consists of the synchronisation and the coordination of the deployment of the Common Projects. A Common Project is a Commission Implementing Regulation which mandates the implementation of the most essential operational changes in the European ATM Master Plan by the Member States of the European Union and their operational stakeholders. The first Common Project is known as the Pilot Common Project (PCP) and is defined by the Regulation (EU) N°716/2014. The SDM synchronises and coordinates implementation against the SESAR Deployment Programme which is a project view of the Common Projects organizing their implementation into optimum sequences of activities by all the stakeholders required to implement. To develop and maintain the SESAR Deployment Programme in close consultation with all the stakeholders is another important task under the SDM function.
