WCA hosts record-breaking networking conference for its 10th Annual Worldwide Conference in Singapore

More than 2,900 independent freight forwarders met to create new global partnerships and reinforce existing cross-border business arrangements.

Florida, USA, March 22nd, 2018 – WCA hosted its 10th Annual Worldwide Conference in Singapore, on March 4th – 6th, where more than 2,900 independent freight forwarders met to create new global partnerships and reinforce existing cross-border business arrangements.

As a result, more than 100,000 face-to-face, one-on-one meetings were held over three days of powerful, accelerated networking.

“This year’s gathering was our biggest yet, and that is testament not only to what we do as a network but to the dedication of our members,” said Dan March, CEO of WCA.

“They’re constantly hungry for more; more partnerships, more solutions, more innovation, and more business. Gatherings like these are vital for all of our delegates and its why we continue to see record numbers.”

WCA members also enjoyed a range of social networking events, marking WCA’s landmark 20th anniversary of logistics leadership and culminating in the much-anticipated and lavish Gala Awards cocktail and dinner held at Universal Studios, Singapore.

“We went above and beyond this year to make sure our members knew that what we’ve accomplished is 100 percent thanks to them,” said David Yokeum, founder and chairman of WCA.

“We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for a handful of those first companies who instilled their trust in us and our idea.

“Today, with more than 6,800 enrolled offices, our members are as passionate and dedicated as they were on day one.”

The 10th Annual Worldwide Conference hosted a number of important, business-enhancing tools, products, and workshops, the most notable being a variety of eCommerce workshops, held daily, for members operating in, or interested in, eCommerce logistics.

“Over 400 people attended eCommerce workshops and think tanks this year, all excited to learn more about the sector and how they can profit from it,” said Alex Allen, WCA eCommerce director.

“Our goal is to equip them to be successful in this highly competitive space. We want them to feel confident that WCA stands behind them as they enter the new age of freight forwarding.”

Workshop topics included Risks & Liabilities for US Regulatory Compliance, eTailer Expectations from Shipping Companies, Gateway Logistics, Fulfillment by Amazon, and many more. Sessions were over-booked, offering standing room only.

WCA looks forward to hosting its 2nd Annual eCommerce Conference in London, on June 4th – 6th, where members will continue to enhance their knowledge, skills, and offerings in this logistics sector.

Our Vision

The objective of SESAR is to modernise European ATM by defining, developing and delivering new or improved technologies and procedures (SESAR Solutions).

SESAR’s vision builds on the notion of trajectory-based operations’ and relies on the provision of air navigation services (ANS) in support of the execution of the business or mission trajectory — meaning that aircraft can fly their preferred trajectories without being constrained by airspace configurations.

SESAR Deployment Manager

The SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) function is defined by the Article 9 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) N°409/2013. Under the oversight of the European Commission, the SDM function consists of the synchronisation and the coordination of the deployment of the Common Projects. A Common Project is a Commission Implementing Regulation which mandates the implementation of the most essential operational changes in the European ATM Master Plan by the Member States of the European Union and their operational stakeholders. The first Common Project is known as the Pilot Common Project (PCP) and is defined by the Regulation (EU) N°716/2014. The SDM synchronises and coordinates implementation against the SESAR Deployment Programme which is a project view of the Common Projects organizing their implementation into optimum sequences of activities by all the stakeholders required to implement. To develop and maintain the SESAR Deployment Programme in close consultation with all the stakeholders is another important task under the SDM function.
